spacious newly decorated rooms, central location, proximity to restaurants
The strong smell of fried food permeated the building!!! Limited luggage storage lockers and the need to request hairdryers from unfriendly staff.

The staff was especially helpful, reasonably good, and responded promptly to requests. It had super central location close to Main Square. And it was also very close to bars and restaurants, the centre of Madrid and El Retiro Park.

I had fairly nice stay, the place is lovely little and reasonably priced!
The location was perfect, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from a huge plaza. The room itself was well-maintained and newly decorated👍

One block from Puerta del Sol, super comfortable to move around the center and take the subway. There's someone at the reception desk 24 hours a day. The night receptionist was very kind. . The general cleanliness is good, the security is good. Some comments I had read about the antiquity, at least in the 4th floor the bathroom was made to new, good ventilation (motor) and drains.
I called twice, week before traveling, I expressly indicated that we would pay in cash; we arrived at 10am, left our bags in the luggage room (which they charge separately, 2? we insisted that we could already leave payment or complete the information (again we said we would pay in cash), since we had only 1 day in Madrid and we would be back long after the check-in time. At 5pm I get a credit card alarm because they were trying to charge me for the accommodation (I had to call the bank to see what it was about because the name of the hotel didn't come out in the charge), I call the hotel they tell me that they thought we wouldn't go, so they had to charge the room and release it, that they hadn't called me because my phone was missing a number Anyway, they gave us a very bad time for the one day we had in town.. Apparently. any passer-by can come in and leave things in the locker, because they ignored that our bags were there since 10 am, size of the room does not allow for a triple.. there are two beds together and only two spaces between the beds are 40 cm (at most), security box is also paid for separately (0. 50. each time you open the box)? shower screen also needs to be cleaned on the inside. There was mould on the joints. Soap and shower gel. you are left with only 1 per person even if you stay 2 nights.

great location , but noisy at night
The hostel boasts a fantastic central location, with access to shops and major sights. The cleaning was really good, with the staff ensuring rooms were tidy daily. I particularly appreciated the personalized service at the 24-hour reception, where staff were always ready to assist. The balcony provided a lovely view of the bustling atmosphere below, perfect for some people-watching.
The noise from nearby restaurants made it difficult to sleep at times.

Very good hostel! Impeccable cleanliness, comfortable beds and pillows, very friendly staff, especially Joaquin, a charming person! The location is optimal, right in the center, you can walk everywhere! Reception 24 hours, you can come back late at night without problems! We will repeat at the end of our tour, a few more days in Madrid in this hostel. Thank you!
Only there wasn't a little table, even if it was a refutable one. We had to write, and it's uncomfortable not having a place to lean on, or support things. Also an electric kettle, especially for our mate, so we could avoid leaving the room, to load water in a dispenser. Nothing, very small details that do not change our assessment at all, but they would add up. Anyway, highly recommended!

The friendly and attentive staff (all), the location, in the heart of the city to be able to walk to museums, Retiro, Puerta del Sol.. The beds are very comfortable and have everything you need for a short getaway to the capital. The street is very central and noisy but when you close the balcony you can't hear anything and you rest very well.
Cleaning. On the day we arrived, room had not been swept properly, only what could be seen, corners were quite regular. We found an empty bag of compresses behind the curtain and under the beds a broken yellow bag. It could be attributed to haste or misdirection. We threw the one on the curtain but I left the yellow bag there to see what they would do on the days we were there, it stayed there when we returned home. So it didn't get swept away. Three days. bathroom was fine, dust... it could be improved.

Small room without any decorative item even a single picture on walls. We were hearing a very load noise from the street during all the night. In 3 days they only changed the towels once and did not change the bedsheet. The bath was so small that a normal person will have difficulty using it. There were no shampoo in the room and when I asked for it, the guy in reception proudly answered that they do not have any. The bed was very uncomfortable; the mattress was bigger than the bed (30 cm each site) and one could easily fell down. There was only one long body pillow that had to be shared by two people (very inconvenient) The last day of our stay, there was no electricity in the hotel, water was cold and internet not working.

The location was really good, just a short stroll from vibrant Puerta del Sol. The room was clean and provided excellent value for my stay, allowing me to explore many nearby cafes and restaurants with ease.
Limited amenities for comfort.

The location is the best of best. The room is small but very clean. It is an old building but it was refurbished and it is quite confortable. I have no doubt to come back in my next trip to Madrid.
